Christian Life Community in Poland

About us

Christian Life Community in Poland (WŻCh) is catholic association drawing inspiration from Spiritual Excersises of Ignatius Loyola.

"Our Community is made up of Christians, men and women, adults and youth, of all social conditions who want to follow Jesus Christ more closely and work with him for the building of the Kingdom, who have recognised the Christian Life Community as their particular vocation within the Church." (General Principle 4)

The general aim of Christian Life Community is apostolic mission undertaken in all of the areas of our life. This concerns involvement in Church, and also in social, economical and political life. Recently, the members of CLC in Poland participate in the following activities:

  • involvement in Church and cooperation with other Christian communities in Poland, evangelization,

  • formation of the leaders,
  • concern with private small enterprises, work on unemployment reduction and on improvement of education,
  • care of families and children up bringing and education,
  • aid for poor, disabled and forlorn people,
  • concern with development of culture and with environment protection,
  • involvement in the media.

The members of CLC cooperate with Jesuits, for instance helping to organise Ignatius Retreat in Retreat Houses

Spiritual formation CLC (WŻCh) is concentrated on Passover Mysterium of Christ. The members of communities are striving to the unity with Jesus Christ, who is carrying on the mission of salvation here and now. The bond with Christ and the Church is the motivation of the work for God's Kingdom on earth, in real aspects of out daily life. The particular example of this cooperation is Mary, Jesus's Mother. The members of CLC are learning to follow her in recognizing and fulfilling their apostolic vocation.

The most important source of our spiritual formation are Spiritual Excersises of Ignatius Loyola. "Our vocation calls us to live this spirituality, which opens and disposes us to whatever God wishes in each concrete situation of our daily life. We recognize particularly the necessity of prayer and discernment, personal and communal, of the daily examination of consciousness and of spiritual guidance as important means for seeking and finding God in all things." General Principles 5.

The common way of formation are the meetings in small groups called fundamental communities. Each community meets once a week (or two weeks) to pray together and share members' experience and problems. Together we learn to recognize our mision and make decisions, to become more contemplatives in action.

The Polish National Community is governed by a National Assembly and an Executive Council, elected by the National Assembly. Recently, the president of the Executive Council in Poland is Ewa Poleszak.
